sth to ponder about

office is chaos. everyone's rushing like crazy. super busy. wanted to type sth just now but cos i was given sth to do, so now i shall type sth short.

office has not been more busy, i've got more stuff to do now. guess what they said was true. after first week or so, u'll have increasing no. of things to do.

yesterday on the way home, listening to the radio, a successful business lady was being interview as she shared her ambitions. she said she did "not want to be a legendary working female", but she had great ambitions. she "wanted to be her own boss, start her own company" she said she had had that ambition since young, and although she had changed job paths in her late twenties, early thirties, it did not matter for as long as she continued working hard, she managed to be where she was today; she owns quite a huge company, holds an NBA etc and has a busy, "satisfying busy" life. she's kinda hip too with latest gadgets and stuff.

she published her own book on the only female emperor of China, Wu Ze Tian who was cruel, vicious, power hungry and all, but you gotta give it to her for being the only female to rule China as the emperor. she was the one who challenged confucian beliefs against the rule of women and helped to elevate the position of women! She said that the ideal ruler was one who ruled like a mother does over her children. at least she was fair to peasants, lowering their taxes, raising agricultural production, and strengthening public works.

she(the lady over the radio) also gave advice to young people out there, "never rush your life, take your time to build your career, hence eventually obtaining your success."

when listening to her interview, i kept thinking about my own ambitions. somehow, i couldn't really find any. i felt as though i have been living, and still am living a day at a time. sorta like happy-go-lucky la. i enjoy what i'm given and i already have more than my share. however, i can't help but to admire pple with really big dreams; to own your own country? be as rich as bill gates? become a rock star legend? or maybe even more down to earth dreams... well.. like getting married to a real prince? haha... no la... just kidding... more like, turning into a millionaire overnight... haha... or having magical powers cos of an accidental spill in chemical x or maybe cos of an accidental fall into a huge vat of toxic waste... perhaps, waking up and finding that you're actually adopted and you are actually some bigshot's love-child. *erm. i wouldn't want tht*

okok. more realistic stuff.. like owning your own business. inventing sth tht would propel s'pore into the world's technology market. be a famous doctor. being a fashion designer with her own line of clothing. being an internationally known singer. holding your own art exhibition someday.

those are wonderful dreams. i really don't really know what i want. my so called dream is more about being able to be happy working in the future (as in doing sth i like and enjoy), having a nice guy for a husband, have a peaceful-jovial family, still have my wonderful friends and an even larger social circle, living peacefully... hmm. it sounds so ideal.

i hope to do sth tht would make a big impact (in a good way) by 50. i have no idea what yet. and for now, i hope i'll do very very well for my 'O's (keeping fingers crossed) so i can go where ever i want to and not let pple down, including myself.

right now, at a mere age of 16, i think i have achieved alot more than i ever thought i would. i sang in public (with the 4c band!!!), performed in the esplanade concert hall-victoria concert hall-competing in competitions overseas etc (not as some miscellaneous person like pretending to be a tree), working in a large business organisation, winning an online design contest (it was really my family n friend's work. w/o their support, i wouldn't win anything), getting the eagles award, being able to learn a third language. i can't recall anything else. i think it pretty much covers everything.

this post is quite not meaningful, it's my self thoughts. haha.

ohh.. look what i drew today for fun with what else but paint! in the morning, my notebook crashed on me!!! so while it was getting fixed by the super nice IT technician, i was reading roy's s'pore art council annual reports. it was rather interesting. =) i like the arts.

in case any of my colleagues see this (weird to call them colleagues, i almost feel old)
you are all very nice people. =) ok? thanks for everything.

in the still of the night... sayonara. gng for korean class now!
